          Blue de Travail is composed of fabric offcuts from the Tactile Knowledge Chore Jacket. Adorned with tailors chalk, painters tape and studio notes, this work communicates the inverse of the product. The chaos surrounding the assembly. The appearance of all but the final garment. The craft of making clothes.

Sample

​Cotton canvas, thread, pencil

          Sample showcases the adjustments made between the prototype and the final product. Composed of deconstructed canvas panels from a development sample, this piece highlights the play of finding the best fit. Also, it shows considerations for placements of buttons and pockets, and notes one may write while working through the sampling process.

Twill de Noire

Cotton twill, thread

          Twill de Noire mimics Bleu de Travail, but creates a more minimal composition from black twill scraps. While bleu de travail is textured, twill de noire is smooth and understated, imitating a more organized, less chaotic making process.
